New House Pictures

We are officially a month out from closing on our new house! We have set the closing date for May 28th and we will be moving in June. We stop by about once a week to check on the house. It has been so much fun to see all of the progress they have made in such a short amount of time!

April

April has been a busy month for us! We started out the month by celebrating Easter with both of our families. We had dinner Saturday night with Jason's mom and Dana, brunch on Sunday morning with my family, and dinner Sunday night with Jason's dad and Sheila. It was a wonderful Easter weekend!
.
The next weekend, we drove to the Dallas/Ft. Worth area for my cousin's wedding. Friday night, we started off in Denton where we had dinner and spent the night with my good friend Amy and her husband Josh. The next day, we drove to Dallas to visit Jason's friend John and see his new house. That evening, we drove to Ft. Worth where we met my parents and my brother for my cousin's wedding at the botanical gardens. After the wedding we went out in downtown Ft. Worth with my brother and cousins.

After the wedding with my brother, my cousins Kevin and Kelly and Kelly's girlfriend.

The following Saturday, we were invited to two parties: an afternoon crawfish boil hosted by our friend Roger and a suprise birthday party for our friend Brent. We had a lot of fun enjoying the perfect Spring weather with friends!

Finally, last weekend we had a baby shower for Meredith, one of Jason's good friends from college who is expecting a baby girl in June. While the girls were at the shower, Meredith's husband Ron had a crawfish boil at his house for all of the guys. After the shower, the girls joined the guys at Ron and Meredith's house where we hung out and enjoyed tons of delicious crawfish and shrimp.

Although it has been busy, April has been a really great month!

Moving Right Along...

Thanks to the nice weather we have been having, our new house is moving right along! We have stopped by our lot several times over the past few weeks and each time they have been at a different stage of the building process. Here are some pictures of the progress on our house!

Spring Break!

Last week was spring break and Jason and I had a great week! The first weekend of the break we went to Hunt, Texas for Jason's mom's wedding. The ceremony was right on the Guadalupe River and the weather was sunny, warm and perfect for a spring wedding! Everything was beautiful and I know Shauna and Dana are going to have a wonderful new life together! The wedding was Saturday morning, so Jason and I drove into Fredericksburg to spend Saturday afternoon and evening. We sampled wines and shared a bottle of wine on the patio at Becker winery and then we stopped by Luckenbach. Here are some pictures from the weekend:

We came back to Houston on Sunday and the rest of the week was packed full of fun spring activities. Monday afternoon/evening we went to the livestock show and rodeo to see Lady Antebellum. Both the rodeo and concert were great and Jason and I enjoyed seeing all of the baby animals, walking around the carnival and getting our yearly fix of all of the yummy rodeo food! Tuesday, I went out to lunch and shopping with my friends Amy, Casey and Casey's adorable daughter Kingsley. Although the weather was rainy and cold, we had a nice "girl's day out"! Wednesday was St. Patrick's day. It seems that we end up going to a new place to celebrate every year and this year we met up with several friends at Lucky's Pub downtown. The weather was sunny and warm and we had a fun time listening to the band and spending time with friends that we haven't seen in a while. Thursday, I spent the day with a friend by the pool. That evening, Jason and I brought dinner to our friends (and soon to be neighbors) Dave and Sara and met their sweet new baby girl, Sydney. Friday, I ended the week by going out to lunch and to look for rehearsal dinner places with my mom and future sister-in-law, Anna for my brother's wedding. It was a wonderful week and I was very sad to see it go by so quickly!

Clearing the Lot

When Jason and I were in Eagle Springs last week for our pre-construction meeting we saw that our lot had been ribboned off. We visited again on Saturday and we were lucky enough to catch them actually clearing the lot! Although it was sad to see all of those beautiful trees removed, we are very excited for the building process on our house to start!
